Auckland based Maori cultural performing group that is 70 members strong. They have each been well trained from an early age in the art of Maori performing arts. The group were founded almost 10 years ago. They are from all over New Zealand.
They rehearse, update and refresh their shows weekly. Each member is a fluent or proficient, speakers of the Maori language, who possesses tremendous talent for entertaining. They perform regularly for large conferences and corporate conventions and are used to entertaining international and tourist audiences.
The Show Formats and options ...
For a full Maori cultural show, the group would perform ...
1. Popular traditional Maori action songs and dances.
2. They would provide a ‘Poi’ display. (These are soft white balls on long string)
3. Perform the famous ‘All Black haka’,
4. They also perform a Maori weaponry display with Taiaha (spears) - much like Maori martial arts.
5. Powhiri – “Maori Welcome”
Performances vary and can be designed to meet your needs. The size of the group can range from 6 - 40 Maori Kapa Haka performers.
